- Disappointed with this product and bought an alternative for my 3rd bathroom lock change. The lock itself has a blue lock plate and you are given a chrome plate to overlay. As this then means it's actually 2 layers thick it makes it more difficult to fit if you are replacing old lock/handles. The latch can be easily changed to fit right/left door but only by adding the plate overlay which 'jams' it a certain way so you can't get away with just having a blue lock instead of chrome. The chrome overlay is exactly the same size as the faceplate as you might expect, HOWEVER, placing it exactly over the top jams the latch so you can't pull the handle down. I could only get the handle to work by placing the chrome overlay 2mm lower than the blue plate which now means it doesn't overlay properly. My advice, buy a bathroom lock with a chrome plate in the first place. These are available with latches which are easy to modify without an overlay.
