Mr Alan Robertson
I have now fitted 3 of these locks in one day and they are a delight to fit. The reason for their superiority is that most of the work needed is boring circular 25 and 38mm holes. The amount of chiselling needed is thereby greatly reduced. Previously I had fitted mortice locks with rectangular holes and the chiselling took hours. The metal finish on these locks is classy and you get 3 keys. Would thoroughly recommend this product where you want locks on internal doors.
Night Latch Locks in Traditional Style and Multiple Metal Finishes
Night latches are an ideal addition to provide an extra level of security to your home. A night latch sits on the inside surface of the door. While mortice door locks are installed flush inside the door, mounting a night latch to the inside of the door makes a property more secure.
When the door is closed, night latches will automatically secure the door using a bolt that connects the door to the door frame. When you need to unlock a night latch, you will need a key to open from the outside or use the knob on the inside to open the door.
Often included with a snib (button) on the internal casing, night latches allow you to leave the door unlocked when shut if you wish; this is suitable for short periods where you do not want to be unlocking and locking a door.
There are two types of basic night latches, standard and narrow. The only difference is the case's size; narrow night latches are more suitable for doors with a narrow frame. At Hiatt Hardware, all our night latches are installed with traditional rim cylinders installed on the outside of the door. We include these with all our night latches.
